Greetings. the Port Scanner utlity reports that port only 5 ports are open on my win2003 server but i've got the firewall turned off and I configured the network interface to Filter "none"/Allow All.

Still the port scanner reports that ports are most ports on the machine are closed. Is there somewhere "special" in Win2003 where you have to open ports... even when the firewall is turned "off"?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Are you running a single nic or multihome (multiple nics).

Single nic go into the firewall and add an exception for say the radmin.exe or the port you want to run it on.

Multihome (external to internal} go into RRAS and set up a port forwarding rule

I had to do something similar running sbs 2003 multihomed.

Can you please run "netstat -an" and post the results here?
