I also strongly recommend to set the port to the orld 4889 for the retail version of RA 3. I was QUITE astonished that I now have to change all firewall settings in all systems. I think you must not impose a new workload on network admins.
In general, I also don't want a client which only runs with its equally versioned server.
Please make client compatible with old RA servers and use the same port. Really.
I believe people are still confused about the product being beta-tested...Alltough Ilia posted it above: THIS IS NOT THE REMOTE ADMIN SERVER 3.0 you all have been expecting... it is a NEW product called Radmin Communication Server (CS)
I also strongly recommend to set the port to the orld 4889 for the retail version of RA 3.
It was done intentionally.
If Radmin Communication Server (RComSrv.exe) would use the same port as Radmin Server (r_server.exe), RComSrv.exe would kill running r_server.exe at startup, as RComSrv.exe would try to use a port which is already in use ("bind_socket fails" error would occur).
With different ports, you can use both products on the same computer.

You don't need to change them, you rather should add new port.
Well, it all makes sense now. I thought this was an updated radmin server/viewer (which we're all still waiting for after how many years?) Does anybody here really give a rip about Chat, VoiceChat?
At first glance this release appeared to be the long awaited Remote Administrator version 3.0 Server. It wasn't until 1, I downloaded the product and 2, I read this forum that I realized it actually was not the product we have all been waiting for.
An IM server/client is usefull, I just am not sure how exactly we can try to impliment it yet, but I do see its advantages.
Now the only other major suggestion that I can bring to the table is to create a Mac client version for Mac OS X. We have about 150 mac computers running OS 10.2.8 or better and about 350 PC's running Windows 2000.
A mac client of both the Communication Client and Server along with Remote admin Viewer and server would make our life much easier.
I would really like to see at least a mac os X compatible client version of both products become available.
