Hi
I'm using a Asus WL-500g as a router in my home network. I have Win XP SP2.
When I'm running Advanced ip scanner (ver. 1.4) om my home network, the adress 192.168.1.255 is reported as active. I can't understand why. In the router setup I've specified that DHCP is only to give out IP-adresses from 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.6.
When I ping 192.168.1.255 I get a reply from 192.168.1.1 which is the Asus router.
When I check the status for DHCP leases in the router 192.168.1.255 is never reported as leased.
Not knowing so much about this I tend to think that somebody has hacked into my system....
Can anybody help me with an explanation of why 192.168.1.255 is reported as active ?
Thanks
WT
